Environmental Intern

JOB SUMMARY:

Ability to link theoretical knowledge with professional practice in the environmental field, with the ability to detect, analyze and solve needs and problems that may arise during activities and with research, preparation and execution skills of projects based on their training professional.

The position is based in Pacasmayo, La Libertad - Peru

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support in developing and updating forms of the Integrated Management System based on new legal regulations and/or events that have occurred.
  • Provide documentary support and monthly reports and/or evidence of compliance.
  • Support in coordinating environmental actions, based on own corporate guidelines.
  • Support in the planning, programming, and execution of internal audits.
  • Support in the programming of environmental training for workers and contractors.
  • Support in carrying out monthly inspections, tracking incident reports and investigations of environmental incidents
  • Make quotes, purchases and verify that they meet the necessary requirements requested.
  • Provide support in the monitoring and evaluation of the environmental performance of the different areas and contractors.
  • Support compliance with environmental obligations in coordination with the maintenance area.
  • Collaborate with the control of solid waste management.
  • Provide support in the management of solid waste in all its stages.
  • Provides support in the execution of internal environmental and biological monitoring.
  • Provide support in the programming and execution of committee monitoring and citizen surveillance.
  • Collaborate in the review and preparation of Environmental Management Instruments.
  • Provide support in updating environmental legal regulations.
  • Provide support in programming social activities.
  • Provide support in the development and execution of the Environmental Education program to communities.

           

HSE

  • Comply with the laws, regulations, standards established in the Integrated HSE Management System.
  • Participate in established training programs.
  • Participate in accident investigations when required.
  • Participate in events, activities organized by HSE.
  • Immediately notify your immediate superior of any incident, unsafe condition or event that occurs.
  • Comply with HSE policies, regulations and procedures.
  • Prepare reports of unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Participate in HSE inspections, drills, among others.
  • Follow up on the closing of reports of unsafe acts and conditions in your area.
  • Support in the fulfillment of HSE objectives - goals.

 

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

  • Student or Bachelor in Environmental Engineering
  • Preferably experience in some of the areas indicated. (Not essential)
  • Preferably knowledge of the Environmental regulations
  • Microsoft Office (Excel - intermediate)
  • Basic or Intermediate English (desirable)
  • Management to work under pressure.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good skills to work in high performance teams.
  • Good skills in using Power BI (desirable)

 

This position reports hierarchically to the Environmental and Social Responsibility Coordinator
