MISSION

Carry out maintenance and repair work on the Plant’s mechanical equipment in accordance with established procedures. Ensure that all tasks are performed with high quality standards, in a timely manner, and using technically sound methods. Support the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor in maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, the position is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on the Plant’s mechanical equipment, following established procedures and/or technical guidance received. The role ensures that maintenance activities are carried out at the appropriate time, with the required quality standards, and using technically correct methods to maximize Plant performance and availability, while assisting the Mechanical Supervisor in problem-solving and troubleshooting.

The position also fulfills the designated role under the Internal Emergency Plan (IEP) as a member of the Support Team in the event of an emergency. All activities must be carried out with a strong commitment to personnel safety, environmental protection, and equipment integrity through strict compliance with Plant rules and procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team and/or Support Team in emergency situations, or provide cover for other emergency team positions, as defined in the Internal Emergency Plan (IEP).

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on mechanical equipment in accordance with the maintenance plan, including activities such as oil replenishment, vibration measurements, alignment checks on motor-pump assemblies, filter replacement in water treatment systems, and related tasks.

  • Troubleshoot and repair faulty or malfunctioning mechanical equipment throughout the Plant, including:

    • Work on water distribution systems (PVC and HDPE).

    • Leak detection and repair.

    • Repairs on chemical dosing systems.

    • Cutting and welding of metal piping.

    • Pump repairs.

    • Bearing and mechanical seal replacement.

    • Machining and fabrication work.

  • Supervise mechanical work performed by external contractors, including:

    • Civil works supervision.

    • Cutting and welding activities.

    • Overhaul and inspection of rotating equipment involving heavy lifting operations.

    • Water distribution line works.

    • Scaffolding assembly and related activities.

  • Participate in on-call maintenance duties to resolve equipment failures and breakdowns.

  • Prepare repair reports and technical reports of various types, and contribute to incident investigations and root cause analyses.

  • Assist in the preparation of maintenance procedures and work instructions, maintain associated records within the scope of responsibility, support shutdown planning and maintenance plans, and propose improvements where appropriate.

  • Use the Plant Management Information System (MAXIMO) for creating work orders, requesting materials, reporting job completion, and performing supervisory duties when designated as a substitute.

  • Ensure the effective implementation of the integrated management system covering safety, health, environmental protection, and major accident prevention at the assigned site, in accordance with established procedures and responsibilities.

  • Act as a member of the Support Team during emergencies, or provide cover for other emergency response roles, as defined in the Internal Emergency Plan (Self-Protection Plan).

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications / Specialization

  • Higher Technician Diploma in Industrial Mechatronics (Advanced Vocational Qualification).
