Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a Power Plant Maintenance Technician to help lead our global power generation company into the future. Our mission is to guarantee the quality and reliability of power generation, ensure compliance with Group policies, optimize, and harmonize working methods while relying on our established foundation of continuous improvement. Maintenance Technician is responsible for handling routine maintenance and repairs on plant facilities and equipment. The Maintenance Technician performs tasks in accordance with the Plant Maintenance Program, associated maintenance and repair procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance with ContourGlobal’s safe work practices outline in the organizations Health & Safety Management System.
  • Support fellow work partners to ensure job tasks are reviewed adequately prior to initiating work, and when changes occur in the working environment, or task requirements.
  • Communicate any unsafe work condition or hazard to your Health & Safety Manager or Operational leader immediately.
  • Report any Health & Safety incident, realized or potential to your Health & Safety Manager or Operational leader immediately.
  • Participate in Health & Safety activities as requested i.e., Incident investigations, inspections, effectiveness reviews and best practice sharing.
  • Participate in the plant's preventive maintenance program by performing routine maintenance duties, including the collection of trending information for the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Tracking of spare parts used by completing a usage report to replace items as necessary. Assist in physical inventories.
  • Participate in the administrative maintenance of the plant operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams and preventive/predictive maintenance records.
  • Set up and operate machine shop tools in the performance of all machine work to close tolerances. Align and balance rotating equipment.
  • Inspect and repair all turbines, heat exchangers, pumps, fans, and similar equipment.
  • Assemble and repair tubing, piping, valves and fittings subjected to both high and low temperature or high and low pressure, or where certified welding is required.
  • Assemble, disassemble, repair and adjust all types of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Complete other tasks as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Strives for excellence and looks for opportunity to improve/make work more efficient and with higher quality.
  • Analyzes issues and identifies the root cause of a near miss/failure and take actions to eliminate it in the future.
  • Effectively uses CG practices/methodology for continuous improvement.

 

This position reports hierarchically to Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment.
  • Four years’ experience as a power plant mechanic, millwright or equivalent required.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must successfully complete a Maintenance Mechanics test.
  • Physical requirements include standing on feet for extended periods, requiring stair and ladder climbing, and routinely lifting up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
  • Protective equipment required in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, and high-voltage protective equipment, etc.).
  • Work with hazardous materials may be required.
  • Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts, with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workloads, and Plant conditions. "On-call" status will periodically be required.
  • Driving on company business is a requirement of this position and as such, the incumbent shall have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

 

Travel RequirementsThis position will requires plant travel.
