JOB SUMMARY:

The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible to maintain the high quality of the plant's mechanical equipment, carrying out preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, in accordance with the maintenance plan. Give timely response to any plant operation problem.

 

The position is based in Cosoleacaque, Veracruz.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Responsible for the direct supervision of the maintenance (preventive/predictive) and repair (corrective) works of the mechanical equipment of the Plant, following the established procedures and/or advice received, ensuring that the tasks are executed in a timely manner, with quality and a technically correct method in order to achieve maximum performance and availability of the Plant, assisting the Maintenance Manager in all aspects related to the planning and execution of Maintenance, advising the Mechanical Specialists and also acting according to the role designated in the event of an emergency. All this prioritizing the safety of people and equipment through strict compliance with the rules and procedures established by the Plant and the protection of the environment.

 

Among its most important tasks are:

 

  • Act in case of emergency as a member of the support team or assume substitutions for other emergency team mishap.
  • Organize, plan, and distribute mechanical work.
  • Responsible for preventive and predictive maintenance of mechanical equipment, according to the maintenance plan.
  • Solve problems with plant mechanical equipment that are faulty or not working properly.
  • Responsible for the mechanical works contracted to external companies and requests for offers to them.
  • Participate in maintenance checkpoints for troubleshooting.
  • Prepare repair and/or technical reports of various kinds and collaborate in the analysis and investigation of incidents.
  • Preparation / Review of Procedures and Technical Instructions for Mechanical Maintenance, Shutdown planning, maintenance plans, etc., proposing, if possible, improvements in them.
  • Clarify technical issues with the corporate department, back office and suppliers and contacts with external companies.
  • Use System Plant Management to create Shortage Notifications, Work Orders, request for material, etc., also performing tasks of the person in charge if designated substitute.
  • Communicate the importance of the Management System requirements.
  • Promote improvement.
  • Sponsor and participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and 5 Whys analysis to quickly address and resolve technical issues and prevent recurrences.
  • Take care of their health and safety in accordance with their function and training and of the people who may be affected by any act in their work.
  • Follow the HSE policy, HSE procedures and ensure good housekeeping in your workplace.
  • Contribute to HSE management by participating in the site risk management process: hazard identification, risk assessment and prevention plan.
  • Provide adequate response in case of incidents and emergencies (health & safety, fire, environment, property damage) and notify your line supervisor immediately in case of an emergency situation, incident, near misses or dangerous situation and participate in investigation and correction processes if necessary.
  • Contribute to HSE management and be a source of proposals for continuous improvement of safety conditions in the workplace and other HSE processes at the sites.
  • Make sure the PTW process is well applied/apply the PTW procedure.
  • Make sure the Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) process is well applied/apply the Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedure.
  • Ensure that the contractor management process is well applied/apply the contractor management procedure.
  • Ensure that routine safety inspections are well conducted and maintained (workplace safety inspections, fire safety inspections, safety inspections, etc. name your own processes) / perform routine safety inspections (safety inspections in the workplace, safety inspections, behavioral safety inspections, etc. name your own processes).
  • Comply with the responsibilities in coherence with the HSE management system/plan and procedures and the training matrix and the annual training plan linked to individual objectives integrated into the performance evaluation process.

 

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required for a highly matrix organization.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity; good relationship building skills.
  • A motivated self-starter who can work with little direct supervision and is able of working in a dynamic and fast paced environment in consideration of time sensitive deadlines.
  • Result-oriented person who can maintain a positive attitude and thrive in a team environment.
  • Highest level of ethics and personal responsibility.
  • Genuine commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • At least 5 years in a similar position.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering.
  • Proficiency in English.

 

This position reports hierarchically to the Maintenance Manager.
