Procurement Director Renewables US
[Houston /Hybrid]
Job Summary:
As Director of Procurement Renewables US, you will join our Procurement team! In this role, you will have the opportunity to run capital project sourcing processes and be a specialist in tendering, contract negotiations and contract management. Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for:
- Developing and executing procurement strategies for solar PV, BESS, and wind projects in the U.S., ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
- Implementing regional procurement plans in line with global guidelines, considering corporate strategy for major equipment sourcing.
- Building and maintain strategic relationships with EPC, BOP, and HV contractors across relevant markets and geographies.
- Managing end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from early engineering oversight and contracting strategy to supplier prequalification, tendering, sustainability, and major contract negotiations.
- Leading complex commercial negotiations with suppliers and EPC contractors, balancing cost, schedule, technical performance, division of responsibilities, and risk allocation.
- Supporting Business Development by providing accurate CAPEX and OPEX estimates for project development and M&A activities.
- Overseeing contract execution and administration, including claims management, non-conformity resolution, and efficient order fulfillment in close coordination with project managers.
Qualifications and Skills:
Your profile is a natural match if you have:
- Minimum degree level education in related discipline to engineering
- 7+ years of experience in the renewable energy and construction industries, ideally with an EPC company, Utilities or IPPs
- Proven track record of PV, BESS or Wind projects in the US
- Extensive experience in contract negotiation, closing agreements, and managing claims.
- Developing and managing work-related projects, deadlines and resources across cross-function teams.
- Strong relationship with EPC’s and ICP Contractors (US)
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and relationship skills
- Customer orientation towards internal organizational units
- Excellent communication, listening and negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel
- Fluency in English
