Procurement Manager, Renewables U.S.

Job Summary

As Procurement Manager, Renewables U.S., you will join our Procurement team and report to the Sr. Director, Procurement. In this individual contributor role, you will lead capital project sourcing for utility-scale renewables (Solar, Wind, BESS), including tendering, commercial and technical alignment, contract negotiations, and contract management. You will ensure compliant, efficient procurement and competitive total cost for equipment and services sourced for U.S. projects, maintaining internal and external alignment from request for proposal (RFP) through contract award, project execution, and contract completion. You will also support Development and M&A with CAPEX and OPEX estimates.Join us to drive the right power forward and make clean energy the natural choice for all!

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and implement project procurement strategies in collaboration with the Sr. Director, Procurement, incorporating global strategies for major equipment and aligning sourcing with project budgets, schedules, technical requirements, and total cost of ownership.
• Lead competitive bid processes for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), Balance of Plant (BOP), and major capital equipment contracts, including photovoltaic (PV) modules, BESS, trackers, and inverters for utility-scale solar and storage projects. Manage supplier strategy, qualification, RFP preparation, coordinated technical and commercial bid evaluation, bid governance, and documented award recommendations and approvals.
• Negotiate major contracts, including EPC, BOP, and key equipment supply agreements, ensuring appropriate risk allocation, cost certainty, and schedule protections. Coordinate with Legal, Engineering, and project teams on pricing, payment milestones, delivery commitments, warranties, performance guarantees, security requirements, and delay remedies.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements in partnership with Legal, Tax, Finance, and project teams, including relevant Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) provisions, Prevailing Wage and Apprenticeship (PWA) requirements, Investment Tax Credit (ITC) eligibility requirements, and tariff exposure assessment. Incorporate applicable requirements into sourcing decisions, contracts, and supplier documentation, including domestic content and prohibited foreign entity restrictions where relevant, and monitor changes affecting procurement.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with PV module, BESS, inverter, and tracker suppliers and EPC, BOP, and high-voltage (HV) contractors serving U.S. projects. Evaluate supplier performance, capacity, financial stability, lead times, and supply chain risks; develop mitigation strategies to support reliable delivery and competitive sourcing.
• Support the Business Development team by providing capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operating expenditure (OPEX) estimates for development and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities. Provide supplier pricing benchmarks, lead-time assessments, and procurement input into due diligence and project economics, coordinating with Engineering, Construction, Finance, and Operations.
• Monitor contracts and projects, managing claims and nonconformities in close cooperation with the Project Manager and relevant functions. Secure efficient execution of all procurement activities, including contract management, order fulfillment, change orders, delivery tracking, corrective actions, issue escalation, and contract closeout.

Qualifications and Skills: 

Your profile is a natural match if you have:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline. Degrees in Supply Chain, Business, or Construction Management are also considered when supported by relevant technical and project procurement experience.
• Experience: Minimum five years of relevant procurement, sourcing, commercial, or contract management experience within the renewable energy and construction industries, ideally with an EPC company, utility, or IPP. Proven procurement experience in the U.S. renewable energy market, specifically solar, BESS, and/or wind, with demonstrated capability to procure for utility-scale solar and BESS projects.
• Skills: Expertise in equipment supply agreements and construction contracts, including EPC, Balance of System (BOS), and BOP. Extensive experience negotiating contracts, closing agreements, and managing claims. Proven ability to develop and manage projects, deadlines, and resources across cross-functional teams. Strong understanding of how development, engineering, contracting, construction, and project finance activities interconnect. A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and relationship skills, a customer-focused approach to internal stakeholders, strong change management skills, and excellent communication, listening, and negotiation abilities. Fluency in written and spoken English, with strong analytical and commercial judgment.
• Travel requirements: Ability and willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.
