Vice President, Development

Job Summary
As Vice President of Development, you will join our Business Development team. In this role, you will report to SVP Business Development and will have the opportunity to lead the origination, development, and advancement of a portfolio of renewable energy projects across the United States. This role is responsible for driving strategy, executing development and M&A initiatives, and leading a high-performing team to deliver projects from early-stage through Ready-to-Build. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
• Implement the company’s U.S. development strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives
• Establish best practices across the development lifecycle
• Lead market analysis to identify target regions based on demand, transmission, and incentives
• Shape portfolio strategy across solar, storage, and hybrid opportunities
Project Development & Execution
• Lead origination and advancement of solar, wind, and BESS projects
• Execute greenfield development, partnerships, and acquisitions
• Internal sponsor of M&A processes including diligence, valuation, negotiation, and integration
• Drive projects to Ready-to-Build, managing schedule, cost, and risk
• Negotiate with landowners, utilities, regulators, and stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and manage permitting risks
• Engage with policymakers to support renewable energy development
Financial & Commercial Management
• Support development of financial models and capital allocation decisions
• Support project financing and investor engagement
• Manage budgets, schedules, and development spend
• Aid in structuring offtake strategies including PPAs and merchant risk exposure
Team Leadership
• Build and lead a high-performing development team
• Foster a culture of accountability and collaboration
• Drive performance management and professional development
• Conduct root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications and Skills:
Your profile is a natural match if you have:
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
• 10+ years in utility-scale renewable development
• Track record delivering 1+ GW of projects
• Expertise in solar PV and BESS development
• Strong knowledge of U.S. power markets and regulatory frameworks
• Experience in M&A transactions
• Strong financial and leadership skills
- Available to travel up to 30% of time
