Job Summary

The Boat Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of boats & PIV used to support gas production activities within the power plant (e.g., transport of personnel, equipment, and materials offshore or floating facilities). This role ensures compliance with marine safety standards while supporting continuous plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

 

In his quality of Mechanical Boat Operator, the Employee shall have the following responsibilities

  • Operate and navigate boats & PIV safely for transportation of personnel, tools, and materials
  • Ensure safe embarkation and disembarkation of passengers
  • Maintain constant communication with control room and relevant plant personnel
  • Monitor weather and water conditions to ensure safe navigation
  • Adhere to designated routes and operational procedures
  • Assist in logistics for offshore/floating gas extraction platforms
  • Support inspection, maintenance, and operational teams accessing offshore facilities
  • Transport fuel, spare parts, and essential supplies as required
  • Standby for emergency response and evacuation when needed
  • Conduct routine inspection and basic maintenance of the boat (engine, fuel system, safety equipment)
  • Ensure the vessels are clean, seaworthy, and fully operational at all times
  • Report mechanical faults and coordinate repairs
  • Participate in the housekeeping at both GEF and MLS
  • Assist in maintenance activities as assigned by your supervisor
  • Perform any other activities as may be assigned by your supervisor from time to time.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Marine licensed preferred or equivalent with relevant experience
  • 3 years' experience (at least 2 years' experience in power Industry).
  •  Basic safety training (e.g., First Aid, Fire Fighting, Sea Survival)
  • Basic navigation and radio communication skills. 
  • Strong boat handling and navigation skills
  • Knowledge of marine safety standards
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
  • High level of responsibility and safety awareness Actively participate & enhance teamwork.
  • Keep excellent work-relationship in O&M team and with co-workers.
  • Observe HSE rules and ensure their application in day-to-day activities.
  • Keep excellent relationship with local community and authorities
  • Familiar with CG health and safety standards and the ability to enforce company HSE standards as well as environmental management plans as required providing a safe and healthy work site
