Job Summary

Managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring systems run smoothly, and providing technical support to staff. The role includes overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software and hardware, managing network security, and troubleshooting technical issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to ensuring that the organization’s technology runs efficiently.

 

Duties and responsibilities

As IT Officer, you will be in charge of the following activities:

  • Ensure to understand and follow the ContourGlobal (CG) Policies at the Power Plant (including CG Essential information _ Company Values, Anti-Corruption, Supplier Code of Conduct, Health Safety & Environment, obligations to local communities, etc)
  • Ensure to abide to the Health, Safety & Environmental obligations with respect to ContourGlobal Policies, Lenders & other legislations (locally or regionally) and timely reported
  • Coordinate incident and change management in collaboration with the Regional IT Manager.
  • Follow Rwanda IT contracts and Coordinate providers’ technical staff.
  • Manage hardware and software installation, maintenance and repair of company devices.
  • Maintain an updated list of all Rwanda IT assets.
  • Manage local server’s software and associated backup routines.
  • Manage all local IT applications and associated licenses.
  • Manage and plan, with the Regional IT Manager, Rwanda IT budget and control all IT expenditures.
  • Ensure that current/future procurements and purchases are in line with the procurement plan and ensure proper and quick delivery.
  • Manage the procurement of IT hardware, software and maintenance products & services.
  • Write documentation for Rwanda users for training purposes.
  • Manage internal network infrastructure including IP Phones, Windows servers, cisco firewalls, switches, video conference facilities.
  • Advise, train and support end users on all IT matters in Rwanda
  • Report on weekly/monthly basis to the Regional IT Manager

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Management or related field.
  • 3 years' + experience in the IT field, particularly in help desk and hardware maintenance and networking, is preferred.
  • Good level (written and spoken) in English and French (optional)
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Willing to learn and stay updated with emerging technologies.
  • Capability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and complete tasks efficiently.
