Maintenance Manager

- Ensure that the ContourGlobal (CG) Policies are fully understood and followed at the Power Plant (including CG Essential information _ Company Values, Anti-Corruption, Supplier Code of Conduct, Health Safety & Environment, obligations to local communities, etc)
- Ensure the Health, Safety & Environmental obligations with respect to ContourGlobal Policies, Lenders & other legislations (locally or regionally) are strictly followed and are timely reported.
- A close follow-up of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) activities on site with respect to Power Plant, GEF and off-shore activities. Additionally, ensuring that the main procedures and plans are duly implemented and followed (for example: Lock-Out/Tag-out & work permit procedures are being respected; Safety rules are being respected _ correct wearing of PPEs, site access control, vehicle management, incident reporting etc; HSE site and work inspections are being done (including inspection level 1, 2 & 3 as per CG policies)
- Be a project sponsor/leader in corporate social responsibility activities undertaking by CG & KivuWatt Ltd
- •Prepare and ensure reliable/timely/effective execution of troubleshooting, adjustment, repairs and upgrades for Wartsila gas engines installed at powerplant and related auxiliaries.
- Prepare and ensure reliable/timely/effective execution of planned maintenance for MWM and Caterpillar gas engines, gas compressor, Gas separators, chillers and dryers, Heat exchangers, coolers, flare system, wash water towers, wash water lift pumps, air compressors, and all other auxiliary equipment installed at GEF. This management is extended to all the offshore equipment including the mooring arrays, anchors, clump weights, boats, etc with the support of the Gas Production manager and Marine Engineer.
- Ensure reliable/timely/effective execution of all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance activities of Power Plant, GEF, and all auxiliary equipment.
- Supervise and monitor efficiency and performance of installed equipment.
- Identify to improve operations and maintenance strategies to provide operational reliability, and availability to maximize equipment operating life.
- Communicate/report effectively to the site management, the actual condition of facilities equipment, performance, and suggestions for improvements. Additionally, ensure a harmonized and efficient 3Cs (communication, collaboration, and coordination) within and among the maintenance team and the operations and production departments (PP and GEF respectively)
- Prepare annual maintenance plan and financial budgets for all planned and unplanned maintenance activities of PP and GEF.
- Implement maintenance management and asset management system e.g. Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS like Maximo, SAP Plant Maintenance or C-Works plus or any others product as may be selected)
- Implement and monitor the inventory management system.
- Work closely with the procurement team to ensure;
- Liaise with service providers and vendors effectively (while respecting the CG Business Ethics and Code of Conduct)
- Spare parts & tools/services ordering to appropriate suppliers/manufacturers etc
- Timely delivery of spare parts & tools /execution of services.
- Participate in inspection to ensure quality of goods and services delivered
- Perform timely performance appraisals of direct reports
- Prepare and lead the training & development plan of the maintenance team on the various modules of the powerplant and regularly validating the progress of the direct reports.
- Establish and implement standard maintenance procedures and periodic reviews to ensure the reliability maintenance of equipment has improved.
- Work closely with other facility managers and department (Plant facilities managers, gas production manager, HSE manager, Operation manager) to ensure proper communication, collaboration and coordination of activities.
- Ensure proper maintenance of the boat fleet, company vehicles and facility buildings.
- Establish, implement, and manage all maintenance aspects of the facilities using total quality management techniques, inclusive of maintenance reporting, develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and set up a monthly reporting system.
- Develop maintenance philosophy (time-based vs Condition based maintenance).
- Ensure proper application of tools, consumables and spare parts
- Take prompt remedial actions based on the information collected by the operational direct reports.
- Ensure that the data from the powerplant SCADA and GEF SCADA are properly scrutinized prior or through interventions.
- Participate actively in the preparation and controlling of the maintenance budget of the KivuWatt facilities.
- Responsible for the timely and quality execution of the work in accordance with the relevant documentation.
- Comply with the work company discipline and provide timely information on the work process.
- Be responsible for the usage of materials and goods.
- All other tasks as may be assigned by The Plant Manager/Supervisor

Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (electrical or mechanical) or equivalent to that degree
- 8 years’ experience (at least 03 years’ experience in management in power generation and/or gas Industry) and offshore experience (would be an added advantage)
- Internationally recognized and certificated training in Process Safety Management or Safe Operation in Oil and Gas will be an added advantage.
- Good level (written and spoken) in English.
- Proficiently in Microsoft Office products such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Power Point & Adobe Pdf.

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering or a similar field, with relevant experience
- 6 years' + experience
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office products
- Capable to Read & interpretelectrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs, electrical device testing. Adjusting and calibration experience will be an added advantage.
- Experience with Siemens PLC step 7, DCS, Allen-Bradley PLCs, Industrial ethernet networks, profibus networks, and instrumentations.
- Familiarity with electrical standards & safety codes
- Advanced trouble shooting skills
