Job Summary

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal plant operations. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics. The technician will perform both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.


Key Responsibilities:

In his quality of Mechanical Maintenance Technician, the Employee shall have the following responsibilities

  • Perform (& supervise when requested) all scheduled and non-scheduled mechanical activities of all equipment (on shore power plant gas and diesel engines, gas pipe line systems, structures & common auxiliaries and off shore gas extraction facility engines, structures, compressors, coolers and chillers, pumps, HPU, Nitrogen generators, wash water towers, separators and pumps, GaRe, Inergen and FIFI systems) as per OEMs manuals instructions and maintenance schedule.
  • Assist in start-ups, shutdowns and normal operations of the facilities systems.
  • Responsible for taking corrective action during system operational disturbance or report such to attention of operation and/or maintenance supervisor
  • Prepare and complete timely maintenance logs and running records for monthly reports in clear and concise manner as required by the guidelines.
  • Supervise and perform proper analysis and records of parameters noted on site (running hours/flushing counters, operating parameters) to come up with accurate and timely intervention.
  • Utilize all maintenance tools in a manner to maximize their useful operating life.
  • Ensure that original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) instructions are implemented and followed as required for economical and safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Act immediately and responsibly in case of fire, gas release, emergency alarm and accident with the aim of minimizing property damage, casualties or fatalities on site as may be assigned.
  • Conduct on-job training by coaching and mentoring interns, trainees and junior technicians.
  • Continuously maintains this maintenance plan based on availability of maintenance personnel, feedback from operations, required outage and overhaul times.
  • Communicates (utilizing 3C’s) planning with Gas Extraction and Power Plant operations managers, maintenance supervisor and marine engineer.
  • Prepares work scope and parts lists for all maintenance activities, workshop work and components of maintenance together with stakeholders.
  • Manage maintenance plan, schedule, relevant maintenance and safety checklist in maintenance CMMS (CWorks to date) system for weekly, monthly, semi-annual, annual and bi-annual activities etc.
  • Ensure maintenance department monthly KPIs are met and report submitted on due date.
  • Actively participate in condition-based monitoring campaigns and maintenance activities.
  • Participate actively in Management of Change (MoC) proposals and reviews.
  • Assists warehouse management with technical and product specific inventory knowledge when and if needed.
  • Continuous improvement through failure analyses (including 5 whys analysis) and reviews of the technical and financial impact of unplanned maintenance and aim at reduction of unplanned maintenance.
  • Actively analyze and propose changes to the planned maintenance scope parts, tools and consumables based on their technical and financial impact.
  • Perform other activities as may be assigned by the maintenance manager/supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor of Engineering (mechanical) or equivalent to that degree/ Engineering diploma with relevant experience
  • 3 years' experience (at least 03 years' experience in power Industry).
  • Good level (written and spoken) in English and French (optional)
  • Proficiently in Microsoft Office products such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and Power Point
  • Actively participate and enhance teamwork.
  • Keep excellent work-relationship in O&M team and with co-workers.
  • Observe HSE rules and ensure their application in day-to-day activities.
  • Keep excellent relationship with local community and authorities
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to utilize 3Cs
  • Familiar with CG health and safety standards and the ability to enforce company HSE standards as well as environmental management plans as required providing a safe and healthy work site
  • Proficiently in Microsoft Office products such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Power Point & MS Teams
  • Good level (written and spoken) in English
