Job Summary:

The role entails coordinating and a  lead in-charge of the procurement department.

Key Responsibilities:

In the position of the Procurement Coordinator, the employee shall have the following responsibilities

Ensure that the Contourglobal (CG) Policies are fully understood and followed at the Power Plant (including CG Essential information _ Company Values, Anti-Corruption, Supplier Code of Conduct, Health Safety & Environment, obligations to local communities, etc) 

  • Ensure respect of Contourglobal and KivuWatt information confidentiality obligation 
  • Ensure that proper due diligence has been performed on all vendors that the company engages, obtaining Third Party Compliance approval and coordinates with the Compliance Counsel 
  • Ensure compliance with ContourGlobal’s vendor compliance procedures and conditions when registering all vendors
  • Ensure that orders for material, goods, services and equipment with local, regional and international vendors are in accordance with KivuWatt/ContourGlobal’s procurement policies, best practices and other local legislations
  • Ensure the efficient, timely and economic procurement of goods and services needed for KivuWatt, delivery and construction and any other area of operation or investment related to KivuWatt Power Plant, the barge and its outlying areas within the appropriate statutory constraints
  • Ensure the timely, quality and efficient execution of procurement activities in the P2P model for instance services and materials requests, order processing, tracking, transportation (licensing where needed), and logistics coordination lead
  • Ensuring reconciliation of quantity, quality or value discrepancies with the vendor liaising with the warehouse team
  • Implementing and contributing to the development of contract management procedures, resolving issues, monitoring performance, and negotiating contract variations through effective vendor relationships to enhance business outcomes
  • Advise the management/requestor on purchase decision based on the prices quoted, quality offered and appropriate lead time
  • Negotiating with vendors for favorable terms and conditions, pricing, establishing realistic delivery schedules and the fastest route
  • Conduct regular meetings with different KivuWatt teams to ensure that procurement planning is aligned with the procurement schedule & maintenance activities/services
  • Formulate, implement, and manage departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and set up a monthly reporting system.
  • Supervising, coaching and mentoring a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
  • Ensuring that goods, services and related information are moved from vendors to end users in accordance with the 5R concept of right product at the right place at the right price at the right quantity and right quality
  • All other tasks as may be assigned by your manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS.

  • Bachelor of Procurement or equivalent or Engineering degree with relevant experience
  • Completed Level 2 of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or equivalent
  • 5 years' + experience
  • Good level (written and spoken) in English and French (optional)
  • Previous experience with SAP Materials management module is an added advantage
  • Proficiently in Microsoft Office products such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Power Point & Adobe Pdf.
  • Ability to review data and make relevant management decisions.
  • Familiarize with CG health and safety standards and the ability to enforce company HSE standards as well as environmental management plans as required providing a safe and healthy work site
  • Strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion and to manage competing priorities
  • Highly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally
  • Excellent negotiation, good verbal and written communication skills and ability to utilize 3Cs
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as think laterally and offer creative solution in a logical and systematic approach.
