Job Summary
The Treasury Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s treasury operations, including cash flow monitoring, bank transactions, payments processing, and financial reporting, to ensure efficient liquidity management and compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
In his quality of Treasury Accountant, the Employee shall have the following responsibilities:
- Ensure that the Contourglobal (CG) Policies are fully understood and followed at the Power Plant (including CG Essential information, Company Values, Anti-Corruption, Supplier Code of Conduct, Health Safety & Environment, obligations to local communities, etc)
- Ensure respect of Contourglobal and KivuWatt information confidentiality obligations
- Monitor daily cash management and optimization for the company
- Prepare detailed and accurate cash flow forecasts to ensure the company’s liquidity needs are met
- Prepare and present regular treasury reports to the Supervisor and the Finance Manager, including daily cash position, liquidity status, receivable status and financial risks, to aid in strategic decision-making.
- Ensure that payment instructions issued are complete, accurate and appropriately authorized and supported
- Negotiate with the banks to ensure that FX transactions are performed optimally with the best rates available on the market
- Post in SAP on a timely basis all bank and petty cash transactions carried out in the company using the appropriate transaction codes and in accordance with the designated workflows
- Manage payment run by coordination with the accounts payable function
- Perform bank reconciliations of all back accounts and ensure their accuracy and completeness
- Maintain good bank relationships in order to resolve issues promptly and effectively
- Improve and monitor banking costs
- Review bank account maintenance and ensure compliance with covenants
- Maintain Treasury’s Bank Account policy, procedures and ensure compliance thereto
- Develop good working knowledge of corporate bank products and advise on the same
- Ensure that all requirements for internal control compliance are observed in terms of supporting documentation
- Observe the internal control procedures as prescribed by the internal control departments and issue early alerts of any potential non-compliance
- Monitor and ensure compliance with financial covenants with the lenders and other financial contracts, reporting any potential breaches for corrective action.
- All other tasks as requested by employee’s supervisor and/or the Finance Manager
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
- A professional accounting certification (ACCA, CPA,…) is strongly preferred
- Experience: 2 - 3 years of progressive experience in accounting
- Strong experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Experience in an industrial, energy, or project-based environment is an added advantage.
- Experience managing the audits
- Strong proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including mentoring and reviewing the work of junior accounting staff.
- Strong sense of confidentiality, ethics, and compliance.
