Position within the organization
The Electrical Maintenance Technician reports to the Electrical Maintenance Coordinator (see organizational chart).

Essence of the function
Performs all maintenance activities (corrective, preventive, proactive, planned and overhaul) in a timely, cost-effective, and safe manner on all electrical systems, and power generation distribution in line with safety operations and maintenance principles to guarantee the smooth functioning of the production facility for field operation work.

Execution:
-
Commissions, troubleshoots, and maintains facility motors, generators and generator cooling, sensors, transformers and their cooling, busbars, exciters, reactors, circuit breakers, switchboard, control room equipment, and all related electrical equipment.

Disassembles and reassembles electrical devices such as electric motors, transformers, lighting to remove defective parts and make lasting repairs.
-
Installs conduit and wirings, motors, instrumentation, recording devices, starters, and temporary wiring setups.
-
Executes preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment according to the Maintenance Planning.

Performs maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and upkeep of all electrical parts, tools, and consumable such as pumps, blowers, heaters, gear boxes.

Executes maintenance work according to the Fault Reports prepared by Operations.
-
Maintains and repair the electrical equipment in the FIFI-room (Fire Fighter Room).
-
Replaces parts for the electrical equipment, fuses, light bulbs, circuit breakers, electric switches, and other electrical equipment following electrical specifications.

Prepares and completes C-Works of the type of work performed and maintains other records as required, such as daily worksheets and maintenance report sheets.

Prepares Work Permit and the Job Safety Analysis and Environmental Form when a maintenance activity will take place.

Proactively coordinates with other Mechanical, Operations and other departments with the purpose to eliminate failures of electrical equipment.

Is responsible for the availability of the electrical equipment for maximum production.

Fills in the Material Request Form (MRF) for inventory on parts and tools to be picked up at the Warehouse for a specific maintenance activity.

Fills in the Material Request Form (MRF) for new parts and tools to be ordered by Logistics and Procurement for a specific maintenance activity.

Requires and monitors compliance with instructions on repair works and related documentation.

Is responsible to monitor, use and wear the Personal Protector Equipment according to the H&S procedures.

Advising:

Provides advice to the Electrical Maintenance Coordinator for the fulfilment of tasks and targets, regarding to maintenance and repair of the electrical equipment.

Provides solicited and unsolicited advice to the Electrical Maintenance Coordinator for the scope of work for a Work Permit for electrical maintenance activities to be performed by Contractors.

Provides solicited and unsolicited advice to the Electrical Maintenance Coordinator on improvement of the work processes.

Provides solicited and unsolicited advice to the Electrical Maintenance Coordinator of low inventory on parts and tools, which is needed to be ordered from the Warehouse.

Advises solicited and unsolicited on other matters of the department's functional focus area.

Decision-making:

Makes the decision on working more efficiently.

Decides during malfunction, which parts are needed to repair the malfunction.

Makes the decision to request approval of the Electrical Maintenance Coordinator to inform Operations Department to stop the electrical equipment for repair and start the electrical equipment for testing, and final use.

Is responsible for the execution and progress of the work, governed by established standard methods.

Takes some decision and freedom of action regarding own work arrangement under direct supervision.

Reports in C-Works what maintenance activity has taken place and which parts have been used during the work activity, according to the Work Permit Guidelines.

Reports in Material Request Form (MRF) to the Warehouse Officer of the parts that have been taken to use for a specific work activity.

Function requirements

Minimum education: MBO level 3 or 4 equivalent education with preference for an engineering degree in Electrical or equivalent technical degree or obtained through demonstrable work experience.

3 – 5 years of relevant work experience.

Verbal and writing skills in the English language. Papiamentu, Dutch, and Spanish are a pré.

Basic knowledge of MSOffice.

Knowledge of maintenance relevant computer programs, such as C-Works and Enercon Scada.
