Mechanical Technician

Responsible for:

• Installs, commissions, troubleshoots, and maintains facility motors, pumps, valves, mechanical seals, samplers, mixers, pressure relief valves, full flow relief valves, densitometers, gates, and all related mechanical equipment.
• Disassembles and reassembles mechanical devices such as resin screws, barrels, cylinders, valves, pumps, gearboxes to remove defective parts and make lasting repairs.
• Executes preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery and mechanical equipment according to the Maintenance Planning.
• Performs maintenance, diagnosis, repair, installation, and upkeep of mechanical equipment such as diesel generators, fuel pumps, water pumps, valves, compressors, loop oil separators.
• Executes maintenance work according to the Fault Reports prepared by Operations.
• Maintains and repair the mechanical equipment in the FIFI-room (Fire Fighter Room).
• Rebuilds parts for the mechanical equipment.
• Prepares and completes C-Works/SAP Plant Maintenance of the type of work performed and maintains other records as required, such as daily worksheets and maintenance report sheets.
• Proactively coordinates with other Electrical, Operations and other departments with the purpose to eliminate failures of mechanical equipment.
• Is responsible for the availability of the mechanical equipment for maximum production.
• Fills in the Material Request Form (MRF) for inventory on parts and tools to be picked up at the Warehouse for a specific maintenance activity.
• Fills in the Material Request Form (MRF) for new parts and tools to be ordered by Logistics and Procurement for a specific maintenance activity.
• Requires and monitors compliance with instructions on repair works and related documentation.
• Is responsible to monitor, use and wear the Personal Protector Equipment according to the H&S procedures.
• Is responsible to review and sign/co-sign PTW according to company standards.

• Advising:

• Provides advice to the Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator for the fulfilment of tasks and targets, regarding to maintenance and repair of the mechanical equipment.
• Provides solicited and unsolicited advice to the Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator on improvement of the work processes.
• Provides solicited and unsolicited advice to the Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator of low inventory on parts and tools, which is needed to be ordered from the Warehouse.
• Advises solicited and unsolicited on other matters of the department's functional focus area.

• Decision-making:

• Makes the decision which maintenance has priority and how to work more efficiently.
• Decides during malfunction, which parts are needed to repair the malfunction.  
• Makes the decision to request the Operations Department to stop the mechanical equipment for repair and start the mechanical equipment for testing, and final use.
• Is responsible for the execution and progress of the work, governed by established standard methods.
• Takes some decision and freedom of action regarding own work arrangement under direct supervision.

• Reporting:

• Reports in C-Works what maintenance activity has taken place and which parts have been used during the work activity, according to the Work Permit Guidelines.
• Reports in Material Request Form (MRF) to the Warehouse Officer of the parts that have been taken to use for a specific work activity.

• Execute other tasks, such as:

• Forms part of the weekly meeting with the department coordinators, Plant Manager, and the COO, to discuss the maintenance work that should be done, and which maintenance activity should be finished.
• Forms part of the daily safety toolbox meeting.
• Forms part of the daily toolbox meeting with all coordinators, to discuss the maintenance work that should be done, and which maintenance activity should be finished.
• Promotes a positive working atmosphere and working conditions that are driven by the core values ​​and principles of CGB, applicable guidelines and/or regulations.
• Performs all occurring activities that are necessary to achieve the objectives of the CGB.
• Performs all other activities related to the position.
• Can be deployed flexibly for performing stand-by duties and other activities within all departments.
