Job Summary:
We are looking for a seasoned COO Italy to oversee our Italian portfolio’s ongoing operations and procedures and our growth plan (repowering / revamping of existing portfolio and further greenfield development). The COO Italy is an experienced and competent leader, who is responsible for the efficiency of business and will be reporting to the CEO Italy. The goal of the COO Italy position is to ensure the operating portfolio achieves its planned targets and provides a strong platform for new organic growth. Thus, the COO will have excellent people skills, business acumen and exemplary work ethics.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage the existing Italian PV portfolio, including technical performance and achievement of financial and operational KPIs

Provide technical advice and solutions to asset and construction managers and their teams

Implement company HSE and operational policies and procedures at all operating and construction site and ensure compliance with internal policies procedures and all site permits

Assess the current performance of the assets from an efficiency, equipment
effectiveness, safety, environmental and cost perspective and implement improvement initiatives

Build an operations strategy to ensure long-term business targets are achieved and identify and develop written manuals, reporting tools, training programs, and operating plans to ensure the operations strategy is followed

Implement innovative IT based technologies for automatic reporting, predictive failure analysis, improving overall efficiency, reliability and availability

Monitor and report performance in the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles

Lead project management of repowering/revamping of solar fleets, including extending land leases, defining and executing best procurement strategy, supervising permit processes and overseeing construction activities

Lead contract negotiations for procurement and construction activities, review the quality of work on site, and oversee the start-up and commissioning phases of the projects

Conduct technical due diligence on new greenfield PV growth and provide accurate and achievable inputs to financial models

Build an “A”- team to execute on time and on budget the repowering/revamping plan, construction activities, and diligence of greenfield growth that includes expertise in HSE, project controlling, electrical and civil engineering

Develop human resources within the operations team, developing objectives and training and development plans, assessing performance and building a succession plan

As a member of the Italy leadership team, advise on investment decisions of new growth

Integrate newly acquired or constructed assets in the ContourGlobal Way

Establish common operations practices and processes and technical expertise that can be nurtured and shared across the company as solar grows in other regions and countries

Qualifications and Skills:
-
Education:
University degree in Engineering or Business (Bachelor/Master)
MBA or further commercial based qualifications of advantage
Thorough understanding of the energy sector
Proficiency in Italian and English

Expertise:
Commercial acumen with detailed knowledge of Private Power Purchase agreements and commercial expertise in trading the electricity to the market
Thorough understanding of plant operations and key operating parameters.
Numerate with good understanding of financial implications of business decisions.
Proven negotiating skills.
Strong communications & interpersonal skills.

Competencies:
A Minimum of 10 years Leadership experience in relevant energy business
Sound understanding of the key risks and commercial implications associated with complex project financed based energy projects.
Experience of setting up, management and continuous improvement of systems and requirements for contract implementation and delivery.
Strong communication and relationship building skills
Travel Requirements – This position will require business trips (50%)
