Job Summary:
ContourGlobal is seeking an experienced and strategic finance professional to assume the role of Accounts Payable Team Lead. This pivotal role is responsible for the end-to-end ownership and governance of the global AP process, covering operations in over 10 countries. The AP Team Lead will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of AP processes, tools, and policies in line with business needs and best practices. This position plays a critical role in driving global standardization, ensuring process efficiency, compliance, and high-quality service delivery across the group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Global Process Ownership
- Define, standardize, and optimize the end-to-end global AP process across all business units.
- Act as the main liaison for all AP-related process and system changes, including SAP, VIM, and other relevant tools.
- Translate global business needs into process and system requirements; coordinate with ERP and IT support teams.
- Performance Monitoring and Governance
- Own global KPIs for Accounts Payable and Procurement-related metrics, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Identify underperforming countries/entities, conduct root cause analysis, and present findings at CFO level.
- Lead the design and execution of performance improvement plans with cross-functional teams.
- Process Design and Change Management
- Lead and support global initiatives related to AP transformation, automation, and digitalization.
- Manage change requests and ensure alignment with business strategy and compliance standards.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and training during implementation of process or system changes.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Directly lead the AP team based in Sofia, providing operational oversight, mentoring, and performance development.
- Support and guide all AP Teams based locally
- Ensure stable day-to-day AP operations, timely invoice processing, and adherence to internal controls.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and upskilling initiatives for the AP team.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Partner closely with Procurement, GL Accounting, ERP support, and Country Finance teams to ensure alignment and integration of processes.
- Serve as an escalation point for country leads and senior stakeholders for AP issues and initiatives.
- Maintain and enforce compliance with ContourGlobal’s policies and internal controls related to AP
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of AP experience, including 2+ years in a team lead and/or process ownership role within a multinational organization.
- Proven experience in process transformation, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Deep understanding of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle and end-to-end AP processes.
- Proficiency with SAP, VIM (OpenText), and OCR tools; experience with E-DOC is a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage at senior leadership level.
- Fluent in English; Spanish is considered an advantage
