JOB SUMMARY:

 

We are currently recruiting Chief of Staff Thermal Division reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of the division. The position is situated in Sofia, Bulgaria.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Serve as liaison between COO Thermal Division and Operations leadership team and other Corporate Functions assuring collaboration.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, handling inquiries and developing action plans to address them, and assisting with the preparation and dissemination of communications.
  • Develop and deploy operational KPIs framework within the fleet, including proactive data analytics for weekly, monthly, and annual reports for internal counterparties (Management, Commercial Department, Finance, etc.) and external counterparties (lenders, investors, insurance, government, etc.).
  • Together with the local COOs and in collaboration with Finance and Commercial department, elaborate annual budget and forecasts.
  • Plan, prepare and coordinate highly productive operations management events such as Offsite meetings, periodical, and ad hoc Operations meetings, etc.
  • Sponsor continuous improvement initiatives and engaging in process optimization.
  • Contribute to operations digital transformation and technology agenda.
  • Oversee procurement to ensure optimization of capex and opex.
  • Lead critical evaluation of all CAPEX projects for their impact on operations and return.
  • Oversee high –profile projects from development through successful execution.
  • Assume day to day responsibilities for projects and tasks.
  • Research, benchmark, analyze data and make recommendations on COO inquiries.
  • Prepare and submit, in a timely manner, daily, weekly and monthly reports on project status of assigned work and be able to communicate as to status.
  • Manage and drive third party consultants and suppliers including legal, technical, commercial, financial and regulatory teams.
  • Support ensuring compliance and integration between the Plant operational strategy and the Human Resources policies and practices, including performance management, learning & development, resourcing and talent planning and organizational design and development.
  • Manages efforts of other corporate support functions such as Legal, Insurance and Loss Prevention.
  • Perform all other activities in line with responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS: 

 

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, BA, or another relevant Business subject.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in energy sector.
  • Experience in working in an international environment with different legal and cultural requirements.
  • Post-graduate qualification in Project Management will be considered an advantage.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office software knowledge and skill, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills required for a matrix organization.
  • Highest level of ethics and personal responsibility.
  • Team player who is eager to learn and grow.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and interfacing with employees at all levels.
  • Strong analytical, creative problem solving and decision-making skills.

Travel Requirements - upon business needs; approximately 20% of the working time.

 

This position reports hierarchically to Chief Operating Officer, Thermal Division.
