Senior Financial Accountant

Based in Sofia

Job Summary:

As Senior Financial Accountant, you will join our accounting team for Bulgaria, Greece and Solutions EMEA! In this role, you will report to the Head of Accounting Bulgaria, Greece and Solutions EMEA and will have the opportunity to support the overall accounting activities in Bulgaria, Greece and Solutions EMEA portfolio with focus in the first months in Bulgarian entities. Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

• • Handle the full spectrum of general ledger (GL) processes, including issuing and booking revenue invoices, managing fixed assets, payroll elements, inventory transactions, revenue and expense accruals, provisions, employee expense reports, VAT and local tax calculations, and maintaining accurate cash and bank records in the accounting system.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to regulatory institutions such as the NSI and BNB in compliance with legal deadlines and formats.
  • Prepare and submit monthly VAT declarations and the annual corporate income tax return, ensuring full compliance with tax legislation and reporting deadlines.
  • Actively participate in the implementation and improvement of internal systems and processes, including accounting software upgrades, automation initiatives, and reporting enhancements.
  • Participate in tax audits and revisions, ensuring timely and accurate responses to tax authorities.
  • Support and coordinate inventory checks in accordance with internal policies and accounting standards.
  • Prepare and submit the annual property tax declaration to the municipality, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.
  • Perform the monthly, quarterly and annual closing process on a timely manner for the entities in respect of corporate guidance and instructions
  • Provide the group with all necessary analysis and reports
  • Participate in yearly audit, providing necessary information, participate in meetings
  • Participating in the preparation of statutory reports
  • Ensure filing and archiving of accounting supporting documents
  • Prepare regular analyses and reconciliations to validate accounting data, including but not limited to intercompany, fixed assets, bank, payroll, and balance sheet/net equity reconciliations.
  • Ensure the compliancy with the general principles and internal practices to get straight clearance of the statutory and management accounts on a timely manner:
  • Conduct appropriate communications with all contributors (Operations and Finance internally and with external parties) to ensure proper collaboration
  • Organize support as needed internally, especially related to any legal and tax issue
  • Supporting the entities in the region of BG, Greece and Solutions EMEA

   

Qualifications and Skills:

Your profile is a natural match if you have:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other relevant
• Experience: At least 5 years of proven financial and accounting experience
• Skills: English language skills are required
• SAP and OneStream experience preferred
