Strategic Procurement Lead

Santiago, Chile/Hybrid

 

Job Summary

As a Strategic Procurement Lead, you will join our Procurement Team and report directly to the Latam Procurement Manager. In this role, you will support Chile and the South America region by leading and managing sourcing events and tenders in accordance with the Company's procurement standards and best practices, while developing deep category and supplier expertise.

The Strategic Procurement Lead is responsible for the timely and accurate procurement of goods and services across designated categories, with a particular focus on renewable energy technologies. This role involves managing supplier sourcing, negotiations, onboarding, contracting, and ongoing supplier performance and relationship management. Additionally, the position prepares procurement documentation, reports, and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory compliance reporting. Key Responsibilities: 

  • Procurement of Goods and Services
    • Manage the end-to-end procurement process for goods and services within designated categories, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, timely delivery, and compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Sourcing Events/Tenders
    • Lead and manage sourcing events and competitive tender processes in accordance with Company guidelines and procurement standards.
    • Evaluate bids and proposals against technical, commercial, and contractual requirements while ensuring alignment with budget expectations.
  • Identification of New Suppliers and Opportunities
    • Identify, assess, and onboard qualified suppliers to strengthen and diversify the Company's supplier base.
    • Proactively identify opportunities for cost savings, innovation, process improvements, and value creation.
  • Supplier and Contract Management
    • Conduct complex commercial negotiations to secure favorable pricing, contractual terms, and service levels.
    • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Qualifications and Skills: 

Your profile is a natural match if you have:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of progressive procurement experience across a diverse range of goods and services within a multinational environment. Experience in renewable energy, power generation, or infrastructure sectors will be considered an advantage.
  • Travel Requirements: upon business needs.
  • Skills
    • Proven track record of leading complex sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations.
    • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
    • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Proficiency in procurement software (SAP; Coupa) will be considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of market trends and supplier management practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
