Internal Control Analyst

JOB SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking an Internal Control Analyst to help lead our global power generation company into the future. Our mission is to guarantee the quality and reliability of financial information, ensure compliance with Group policies and optimize and harmonize working methods while relying on our established foundation of continuous improvement. Internal Control Analyst will collaborate with people across the group with the aim of providing reasonable assurance regarding the achievement of objectives to operation, reporting and compliance. 

The position is based in Sofia.

                            KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct reviews and testing of Internal Control compliance in the group
• Prepare the analysis for adequate and timely reporting on internal control frameworks and control deficiencies to ensure appropriate communication, documentation, escalation to business partners, senior leadership, and audit committee
• Deliver adequate and timely action plans and monitor progress to address and resolve control deficiencies
• Conduct internal control training and prepare related information material
• Actively seek standardization and automation through efficient use of financial systems. Apply and implement market standard best practices for managing internal controls over financial reporting and deploy innovative technology where possible to enhance and continuously improve the design and operating effectiveness of the controls, documentation, and assessment and review procedures
• Communicate with internal and external audit to ensure consideration and resolution of all relevant risks and audit findings

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, or related field; professional certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a multinational group or audit firm, with strong interest and experience in leveraging technology for internal control effectiveness
• Familiarity with HighBond or similar GRC tools is a plus
• Excellent written and spoken English; adaptable to fast-paced, dynamic environments
• Self-driven, strategic, and proactive, with a growth mindset and ability to learn from mistakes
• Values-driven change agent, leveraging technology to challenge traditional processes and improve efficiency
• Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail

International travel: upon business needs

This position reports hierarchically to Internal Control Director.
